I have seen this way too many times, in our are around Texas we have numerous unlicensed plumbers and electricals operating in the area.

There are all kinds of plumbing leaks. Some can flood your home, while others are not nearly so damaging. Your approach to stopping a leak depends on the type of leak it is.
I would laugh, if it weren’t so sad. It’s so easy to pick up the phone to call New York Plumbing! No need to go DIY when you don’t have the right materials at hand.
